While in Lowe’s, the preacher heard a man, Big Mike, talking to everyone he met. The preacher said, “you sure are happy”, and Big Mike said “I am a christian”.
The preacher said “when did you first become a christian?” Big Mike said “I am an alcoholic”, and he told about when he first became a christian.
He said that when he had been in the program for a few months, he dreamed that he killed everybody. From the later discussion, the preacher believed that “everybody” was his family. He described that after he awoke, he was on the floor crying and praying and how his little daughter did not know what was wrong with her daddy.
Big Mike described how it felt when he was on the floor crying and praying. He said it felt like “the Lord yanked off the top of his head and poured it full of love until it came out the palms of his hand and the souls of his feet”.
Motioning toward his chest with his hand like turning on a light switch, he said that sometime later, when he was in a meeting, the Lord reached up and turned all that on again.
